Extra Crispy Air Fryer Chicken Drumsticks

These chicken legs have a crisp outer skin thanks to the magic of the air fryer and a little help from a cornstarch coating. We are adding just a touch of cornstarch the achieve that crispy chicken skin.

This is a fairly basic coating so feel free to add any of your favorite seasoning or sauces to the chicken. If adding a bbq sauce, do it the last 5 minutes of cooking to prevent burning.

How Long Do Drumsticks Take In An Air Fryer

I like to air fry chicken drumsticks at 400ºF. At this temp the chicken legs should be done in 18-20 minutes or 25 minutes for larger legs. Cook chicken until it reaches an internal temp of 165ºF.

How To Cook Chicken Legs In The Air Fryer

  1. Toss chicken legs with oil, garlic powder, Italian season, cornstarch, salt and pepper. Transfer to greased air fryer basket.
  2. Air fry at 400ºF for 18-20 minutes or until internal temp reaches 165ºF.
